Subject objective:

To independent students for critical thinking and to conduct a reasoned discussion about ethical principles and norms in scientific research and to understand the relationship between bioethics and biosciences.

Case contents:

Ethical principles in experimental research. Ethical attitude towards the environment – disposal of experimental waste. Ethical norms in the behavior of researchers: of the same rank, senior – young researchers (phD students, postdoctoral students). Ethics in writing publications. Plagiarized share checks: mechanical (computer programs), settings, chapters of scientific work in which syntagms, descriptions and sources are necessarily repeated, titles-sentences (M&M, List of cited references), Principle of caution, Violation of ethical norms in scientific research, Relationship of values and technology, Moral and ethical dilemmas in scientific research, Bioethics, Relationship between bioethics and biosciences

Learning outcomes: competences, knowledge, skills that the subject develops:

1. Review the ethical controversy in some experimental studies.
2. Propose professional and ethical principles a concerted action in academia.
3. Judge your own role in prosocial behaviour and action in academia.
4. Assess the importance of an interdiciplinary, transdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, pluriperspective and integrative approach in scientific work.

The way of teaching and acquiring knowledge:

1. Attend lectures and actively participate in discussions.
2. Write a seminar paper.
3. It is the obligation of the participants to monitor the dynamics of the performance of the intended obligations, using the relevant literature and scientific research methods.
4. Pass the oral exam.
