On December 11, 2025, the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek hosted and organized the scientific conference "7th Young Researchers' Day", which this year again brought together prominent young scientists from the constituent entities of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek.
The president of the scientific and organizational committee was Prof. Dr. sc. Martina Smolić, Vice-Dean for Science and Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek and Head of the interdisciplinary doctoral study program in Molecular Biosciences at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. The conference was officially opened by Prof. Dr. sc. Jurislav Babić, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek.
The scientific conference was attended by 16 young researchers from eight faculties of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, who presented the results of their scientific research and exchanged experiences from various fields of science.
Among the participants were students of the interdisciplinary doctoral study program in Molecular Biosciences:
Karla Rožac , who presented research entitled "The role of immunological biomarkers in predicting the success of multimodal treatment of lumbar disc herniation" , and
Lovro Mihajlović , who presented research entitled "The influence of phospholipases A1 and A2 on the removal of phospholipids and immunohistochemical detection of gangliosides in the spinal cord" .

The conference once again confirmed the importance of encouraging young researchers, interdisciplinary cooperation and knowledge exchange within the doctoral studies at the University of Osijek.
