The public defense of the doctoral thesis entitled "The relationship between the Hedgehog signaling pathway (SHH and GLI1 proteins), immune checkpoint inhibitors (TIM-3 protein) and the presence of Fusobacterium nucleatum in tumor tissue with the response to neoadjuvant therapy and clinical outcome of the disease in patients with hormone-independent breast cancer" by Irena Veliki Dalić, MD , a student of the interdisciplinary doctoral study of Molecular Biosciences will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 , in the hall of the I. wing of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, starting at 11:00 a.m. and in a hybrid format.

The mentors of the doctoral thesis are hon. asst. dr. sc. Petar Ozretić, titular assistant professor at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and senior research associate at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, mentor 1, and assoc. prof. dr. sc. Marija Milković Periša, associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, mentor 2.

  3. hon. assistant professor, Ph.D. Ana Čipak Gašparović , associate professor at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and scientific advisor at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, member;
  4. hon. Prof. Dr. sc. Koraljka Gall Trošelj , full professor at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and scientific advisor in permanent selection at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, replacement member.
